Noises Off by Michael Frayn

Noises Off is a must see show for any experienced or novice theatre goer for its sheer lunacy and brilliance.
— Aaron Lembo, The University Paper: Bath

The Mission Theatre's resident company Next Stage is delighted to announce a revival of its highly-acclaimed 1999 production of Michael Frayn's hilarious play Noises Off timed to celebrate the theatre's 10th Birthday in January 2015

Frayn's classic is a side-splitting take on the highs and lows of life in a repertory touring company. Opening in Weston-Super-Mare, Otstar Productions Ltd are presenting "Nothing On" a standard farce. Unfortunately, Dotty Otley, the star of the show, is slightly past her prime and trying to keep track of endless plates of sardines leads to near nervous breakdown for her, the director and the stage manager.

As tempers flare, backstage passions are also alight with clandestine affairs, jealousies and thwarted ambitions melting in a crucible of exhaustion and first-night nerves. Things have not improved when the touring production reaches Goole, and by the time the shattered company reach Stockton-on-Tees, it is not only the sardines that are disintegrating.

Noises Off has been hailed as the 'funniest farce of modern theatre'. Why not come along in January to join in the fun and see The Mission Theatre's Main Auditorium transformed for this very special 10th Birthday celebration?
