Teechers by John Godber

This production was performed at The Rondo Theatre, Bath

“The kids had raw potential, but I had to get them into plays” (Nixon, Act I, “Teechers”)

Next Stage Youth bring all their talent, zest and enthusiasm to this sparkling, witty, fast-paced production of “Teechers”.

Sally, Gail and Hobby are school leavers. They’re seen as losers by the staff, all that is except the new drama teacher, Mr Nixon. With his encouragement the three pupils present a school play which suddenly gives meaning to their life in an inner-city comprehensive. Before they leave school all three have developed self-confidence, a sense of achievement and a wider vision as they enter adult life.

Godber wittily explores classroom life, bullies, staff morale, pupil discipline in this entertaining and memorable comedy.
